As promised, Damon Albarn released his iPad-recorded Gorillaz album The Fall yesterday. It’s available to stream or to download via the fan club.

Nialler9 Irish Albums of 2010 poll results
Irish music had a fruitful creative period this year (and long may it continue), so this year’s list (the fifth annual albums poll) was hotly contested. Having said that, there were two clear frontrunners who swapped all the way til the end before one pulled away in the final stretch. A full list of results for both the Irish albums and songs of 2010 is linked at the bottom of the last...

A somewhat surprising winner but it is a great song.. Also, special honour goes to Richter Collective label for having no less than 10 songs in the top 30.

Liveline: Rubberbandits & Willie O'Dea (Audio)
Perhaps the most surreal thing I’ve ever heard on the radio never mind Liveline. Former Minister of Defence and Limerick TD Willie O’Dea defends the Rubberbandits’ ‘Horse Outside’ against a disgruntled caller and actually says the line “It portrays me as selling hash, and swearing on my tache that it’s good hash” from the Bandits song about him. At...

Best Music Videos of 2010: 1-10 | 11-20 | 20-30 1. iamamiwhoami concert film (Director: iamamiwhoami)

Other Voices Day 4 – Marina & The Diamonds, Steve...
The final gig of the regular nights of Other Voices in the church and there was certainly a feeling amongst the 55 crew that the end was within sight. They still had to take stage, lighting and sound rig out of the church and there are eight Irish bands recording in McCarthy’s the next day, but the main event was nearly done.
Five artists took to the Church last night. 18 played in that...

Not Squares’ debut album Yeak OK comes out through Richter Collective today and the band’s meaty electro-tinged punk sound has been fully realised with the help of The Vinny Club on production.
